This injury to the supporting structures is
characterized by marked tenderness to percussion, but
no abnormal loosening or displacement of the
traumatized tooth. Only a small percentage of these
teeth undergo pulp necrosis (3 per cent) or pulp canal
calcification (2–7 per cent).
Root resorption is not a
feature of concussed teeth.
